About
Caret is a custom editor for Markdown and RTF files, built on TipTap. It gives you a Notion-style document view instead of raw markup, with footnotes and review comments kept in a side panel, not in the file.
Write Next continues your text at the cursor in the style of the surrounding passage. It can read other files in the workspace, such as outlines, research notes or chapter drafts, before it writes. It runs on whichever language model VS Code offers, such as GitHub Copilot.
What it does
A document, not markup
Edit .md and .rtf files in a Notion-style view built on TipTap, with tables, task lists and images.
Write Next
Press Cmd+Return, or click the Write button that appears when the cursor rests, and Caret continues in the style and tone of the passage.
Reads your workspace
Before writing it can open outlines, research notes or chapter drafts from your workspace, and search them for facts.
Review comments
Comments sit in a side panel, not in the file, and an agent in Chat can add one to your selection.
Footnotes
Insert footnotes from the editor or from an agent.
Your model
It uses whichever language model VS Code offers, such as GitHub Copilot.

Press Cmd+Return at the cursor, and Caret continues from what you have written, using the files in your workspace.
